Yankees GM Brian Cashman Fires A Shot At A-Rod

The New York Yankees front office has heard enough from A-Rod. Furious over A-Rod's recent tweet updating fans that he has been officially declared eligible to play by his orthopedic surgeon, Yanks GM Brian Cashman fired a shot at his third baseman.

From ESPN NY:

"You know what, when the Yankees want to announce something, [we will]," Cashman told ESPN New York. "Alex should just shut the f— up. That's it. I'm going to call Alex now."

Cashman's public scolding spoke loudly about the sentiments regarding A-Rod, not only within the franchise, but also with their frustrated fan base. The general consensus is he hasn't lived up to MLB's richest contract. A-Rod, who is still under PED investigation from MLB due to his relationship with Biogenesis, has embarrassed the franchise and his diminished skills have made him expendable. His talent no longer outweighs the controversy and the Yankees probably wish he would go far away. For good. Unfortunately for the Yankees, A-Rod is under contract until 2017.
