While You Were Working: Donovan McNabb Was Getting His Due Respect From the Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles announced their plans to retire Donovan McNabb's No. 5 jersey at halftime of the Sept. 19 game against the Kansas City Chiefs. McNabb's career didn't end so smoothly, but that can't slight the fact that he was easily the most accomplished quarterback to play for the Eagles. 

 

Colin Kaepernick impressed the football world with his speed last season when he became the 49ers franchise quarterback. Now, Kaepernick believes he's even faster after working with a crew of Olympic track and field athletes in the offseason. 

 

Robert Griffin III's surgically repaired ACL is going to require him to wear a knee brace for the entire season. Perhaps that could be an indicator to the coaching staff that he doesn't need to be running around every other play. 

 

So since Ryan Braun appears to have cheated, the Brewers are giving fans who attend home games in August a $10 voucher for food, merchandise, or future tickets. 

 

For the first time since 1965, no living baseball player was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame. That's even with Bonds, Clemens and Biggio, Bagwell, Piazza, Schilling, Tim Raines, and Edgar Martinez on the ballot. Connecticut police are searching a pond in Bristol for evidence linking Aaron Hernandez to murder. Authorities have not found the weapon used in Odin Lloyd's murder, which Hernandez is charged for.
