WATCH: Like Father Like Son, Vlad Jr.’s Latest HR Hits A Hotel

Vlad Guerrero Jr. hits NUKES !

The Young Don has been on MLB’s superstar radar for some time now and he’s still only 19 years old.

Since legendary MLB slugger Vladimir Guerrero Sr. was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2018, Junior’s name has started attracting the shines his game was already getting as a highly-rated minor league prospect.

As a minor leaguer, Junior’s feats of power rival his Dad’s. He’s quickly carving out a name of his own as a member of the Toronto Blue Jays Double-A affiliate in New Hampshire, the Fisher Cats. On Monday night he had his first multi-home run game at that level. The second one was a massive blast that soared far enough to hit the Hilton Garden Inn that sits beyond the Fisher Cats left field fence.

Guerrero Sr. was inducted as part of a stellar Cooperstown class in January, along with prolific sluggers Chipper Jones and Jim Thome and Rolaids relief beast Trevor Hoffman.

Guerrero was a nine-time All-Star over his 16 seasons, had a .318 career batting average and a .553 slugging percentage — one of nine players with numbers higher than .315/.550. The outfielder’s career batting average is sixth-highest among players with at least 400 career home runs. Vlad had power, but he was a multi-faceted, unique hitter.

Junior is not a one trick homer pony either. On Monday, the Eastern League announced that Guerrero has been named as The Eastern League Player of the Week for the second time this season, also earning the honor for the week of April 16.

As of Monday, Guerrero led the Eastern League in batting average (.398), RBI (30), hits (37), is second in on-base percentage (.455) and total bases (58), is third in OPS (1.079),  is fourth in slugging average (.624).

Over the past ten games, hes hit .514 with 15 RBI and seven extra-base hits. In his 24 appearances so far this year, hes recorded at least one hit in all but three of them, with a hitting streak currently at 11 games.

Maybe he should just go right to the pros…like today.
