VIDEO: Knicks Clinch First Atlantic Division Title Since 1994

The New York Knicks cruised to their 13th victory in a row, dominating the Washington Wizards, 120-99. Carmelo Anthony led the charge to clinch the Atlantic Division — a "long overdue" accomplishment for the Knicks, according to Mike Woodson — scoring 36 points with eight boards and six assists. In the process, his name was once again connected with Bernard King, as 'Melo became the first Knick since King to score 35+ points in five straight games.

This is a nice accomplishment for New York, but not much more than nice. Division banners aren't hung in Madison Square Garden. They'll really earn their stripes in the Playoffs.

Of more immediate concern is the Chicago Bulls on Thursday, who recently ended Miami's 27-game run. They may head to battle without Kenyon Martin, who returned from injury and picked up another against Washington, and Tyson Chandler, who missed last night's game with a sore disk in his back.
