Tyrann Mathieu Is Released By Cardinals And NFL Teams Are Hyped

The NFL free-agent market just got a new star addition with the release of All-Pro safety Tyrann Mathieu by the Arizona Cardinals. The two sides apparently couldnt come to an agreement about the 25-year-old’s market value and hes now on the open market after negotiations fell through and they released him.

Mathieu will not be hurting for suitors and early reports say he is on a one way train to the bright lights of New York, as he would fit perfectly into the defense the Giants have already enhanced with the additions of linebacker Alec Ogletree and cornerback Teddy Williams. The Honey Badger have a passion for the game and provides an electrifying , game braking style of play that fits with the high profile Giants.

The #AZCardinals are releasing versatile DB Tyrann Mathieu, source said. They tried to redo his deal but it wasn’t to be. Keep an eye on the #Giants and his former defensive coordinator.

The Cardinals’ third-round draft pick in 2013 isnt bitter about the breakup. Its business, and he will get his fair due on the open market. The Honey Badger sent a thank-you note to the Birdgang on Wednesday afternoon.

I want to THANK the entire cardinals organization for everything they have done for me over the past 5years. Personally thanking Michael, Steve & B.A for believing in me. I will miss the fans and my teammates more than anything! My work in the Arizona community will continue!

Mathieu is a fighter. His story is well-chronicled of how the 5-foot-9 gridiron warrior carried the stigma of going from being a 2011 Cotton Bowl MVP (the first freshman to ever hold that distinction) to being maligned as a marijuana abuser whose habit led to an arrest and embarrassing dismissal from the LSU team in August 2012.

It affected his draft position and his combine experience was full of questions and doubt expressed by other teams about his character, discipline and desire to play at the pro level.

Arizona took him in the third round of 2013 Draft. Since that day, Mathieu has been nothing but an inspiration, a leader and class act in the NFL. He blossomed as a Pro Bowler in 2015 and has been a rock in the Cardinals high-ranked secondary ever since. Hes had an even bigger impact on the community.

Years removed from his combine drama, Mathieu’s leadership is more refined and channeled positively. He doesnt lead his followers down paths of possible destruction as he did when he was 18 while trying to handle celebrity and fame for the first time.

Hes a veteran, a role model and beloved by the fans. His presence transcends football for the kids in the community that mimic his hairstyles and rock his jersey,

Life is always going to throw you some kind of challenge, whether it be injuries, whether it be personal, whether it be family, Mathieu once said. You [gotta] just keep pushing forward.
