The Bobby V Experiment Is Done in Boston

If all reports are correct, The Bobby V Experience is abruptly over in Beantown. He’s got about a week to mount up and ride out of Fenway’s offices.  Bobby Valentine arrived in Boston as the new managerial sheriff and savior. The former Mets manager was courted by Red Sox ownership to reenergize the complacent veterans, spark a New World Order and return Boston to the playoffs after consecutive-season failures under former manager Terry Francona.

But before his first April cup of herbal tea could cool, Bobby V ripped fan favorite Kevin Youkilis in the media.  By the time the laughing gas cleared in October, Valentine was the walking dead, after leading the last-place Red Sox to its first 90 loss season since 1966.

In typical fashion, Bobby V is going down fighting. He says he was “undermined” by his coaches and charged the people around him with being disloyal. Red Sox GM Ben Cherington has refused to comment, but it’s obvious The Bobby V experience was a colossal failure and embarrassing miscalculation by the new Red Sox regime.
