Now we get to see who got picked last on the playground.
The National Basketball Associationand the NBA Players Association have agreed to televise the playground-style draft in which two captains will select their squads for the 2019All-Star Game in Charlotte, N.C., according to sourcesfamiliar with the plans.

While a firm date and specific format for the televised draft has not yet been confirmed, Jan. 30 and 31 have emerged as two potential targets for TNT broadcast. The schedule availability of the two captains, once they are identified through fan balloting, is among the variables needed to lock in the broadcast specifics.
This all comes after growing concerns that the All-Star Game was getting dry and lacking competitive fire.
Fans are still asked to choose the game’s starters from the Eastern and Western conferences, but instead of dividing the teams by region, the leading vote-getter in each conference gets to pick any 11 All-Stars to be on his squad.
However, the one constraint is that each captain’s starting lineup must be chosen from the remaining pool of eight All-Stars who fans selected, as opposed to the group of 14 reserves, who are picked by N.B.A. coaches.
No matter how it comes together, a televised All-Star draft will definitely be exciting to see.
