Texas Tech Honors Texas’ Andrew Jones And His Fight Against Leukemia

Andrew Jones, the 6-4 guard for the Texas Longhorns, was tearing up the college hardwood but then was absent over a long period of time. Last week we learned why when the school revealed he had been diagnosed with Leukemia

Jones has had great support from his family and school, but last night we witnessed how life is more important than sports when instate rival, the Texas Tech Red Raiders, suited up for their game against the Longhorns in Austin with every player donning the jersey #1 in honor of Jones.

Stay strong, Andrew. Keep fighting.

But they weren’t along as Big XII rival Oklahoma State also did something similar this past weekend, wearing “#1 Jones” warm-up shirts.

@SBNationCBB Oklahoma State did something similar Sauturday. The show of support for Andrew from the whole Big XII has been very impressive.

It’s great to see the support from schools and fans, proving that while sports are great, life is even greater.
