From Academy Award-winning director Steve McQueen (“12 Years a Slave”) and co-writer and bestselling author Gillian Flynn (“Gone Girl”) comes a blistering, modern-day thriller set against the backdrop of crime, passion and corruption. “Widows” is the story of four women with nothing in common except a debt left behind by their dead husbands’ criminal activities.

‘Widows’ is based on a British miniseries of the same name and, according to Variety, Viola dominates the screen as the leader of a group of people who were killed during a robbery that went left of center. The surviving widows try to deal with the debt left behind by the departure of their husbands.

Set in Chicago, the film also stars fan-favorite Michelle Rodriguez, Daniel Kaluuya, Robert DuVall, Brian Tyree Davis, and Liam Neeson, among others.  The script was penned by “Gone Girls” scribe Gillian Flynn.  The 20th Century Fox offering is scheduled for a Nov. 16 release.
