Steph Curry Catches The Holy Ghost In Third Quarter Of Game 3

Game 3 of the Western Conference finals between Dub Nation and the Houston Rockets will forever be known as The Return of a Shooting God. Smack yourself now if you thought Steph Curry would continue to struggle with his stroke in these playoffs. Its amazing to think that Currys greatness is still undervalued, slept on and under appreciated by some suspect hoops fans who were trying to make a big deal about Currys struggles from three early in the series.

2016 NBA Finals: First 3 games Curry held under 20 points. Dumb, inaccurate “Curry Finals Struggles” narrative begins. Game 4: 38 points. You can only hold down all-time greats for so long.

Curry scored 18 of his game-high 35 points in third quarter and as quickly as you can say three-point king, Steph started hitting Houston with an array of jumpers, drives, back down, shimmy shakes, crossovers and stutter steps.

Curry recently said that he was amused at people questioning his shot after he started the first 10 quarters of this playoff series 3-of-20 from deep, but he wasnt sweating the technique at all.

I don’t ever lose confidence in myself.” @daldridgetnt sat down with @StephenCurry30 ahead of Game 3 to talk recent shooting woes, Rockets’ defense and more. #TheWarmup https://t.co/Szelj2oatC

My approach to every game is don’t get too high and don’t get too low, Curry said after the game, choosing instead to credit his teams defense with the win …but as a team we played a lot better on defense today which kept everyone involved.

Currys all-around offensive mastery helped spark a 13-0 Golden State run and the Warriors outscored Houston 34-24 in the third quarter, led 88-67 at end of the third and coasted to a 126-85 blowout.

It was Golden States 16th consecutive home win and Steve Kerrs juggernaut is 26-4 in their last 30 postseason games. After a slow start, Chef got cooking and hit on 13-of-23 shots overall and connected on 11 of his last 13 shots in an unconscious second half.

Once Steph got cooking, he started killing the game with a variation of layups, culminated by a patented bomb from the parking lot in Hardens face, which Curry followed up with his version of the Reggie Miller shimmy for emphasis, letting everyone know that he’s still the Golden city saviour with the flavor. He actually looked like Aunt Charlene at church when she catches the holy ghost during a moving sermon.  In any event, it was God’s Plan for Steph to return to form and get Golden State back on the winning track.

Talk THAT talk, @stephencurry30 *NSFW* https://t.co/AgKQ43ew9f

See how quickly it can turn for a shooter,  said Miller, who was announcing the game for TNT. On a dime… We were talking about him struggling in the first quarter, then he goes 7-for-7 here in 10 minutes.”

Cocky Steph back GG Houston https://t.co/ZnSRTHRfXk

Now folks can shut up about Steph Currys shooting woes. At this level, iconic ballers dont stay down long. In fact, when players of Currys caliber do slump the opposition knows that a flurry of funk is on the horizon. For proof, see Game 3. Curry  might of single handedly sucked the life out of the Houston Rockets.
