Sony, Nintendo Switch Are Bringing Back Classic Video Game Collections

Both Sony and Nintendo Switch announced this week the revival of bundled classic video games, respectively.

Sony plans on releasing the PlayStation Classic, a small retro console that comes with a range of popular games. It’s set to drop on December 3 in the US, Canada, Europe, Japan and Australia, including games like Final Fantasy VII, Jumping Flash, Ridge Racer Type 4, Tekken 3, and Wild Arms.

There will be 20 bundled titles in total, in addition to the five previously mentioned. The mini PlayStation system will include two original PS1 controllers and an HDMI cable for $99.99.

On the other hand, a selection of SEGA Genesis Classics will be heading to Nintendo Switch, the publisher announced. This classic collection will arrive this winter and features more than 50 SEGA games in both digital and physical form. Gamers will have access to games like Sonic the Hedgehog, Streets of Rage, Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi and more.

Pricing has not been announced but according to Polygon, other versions come in around $30. Similar collections have been announced for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One back in March.
