Russell Westbrook Just Got Paid To The Tune Of $205 Million

OKC fans were waiting and waiting for thew news to come, and today it finally looks like it has.

Fresh off of trading for Paul George, watching their star PG sign a massive deal with Brand Jordan and acquiring Carmelo Anthony, the Thunder have now signed reigning League MVP, Russell Westbrook, to a new five year contract worth $205 million.

Russell Westbrook’s $205M extension has been signed and delivered to the league office, sources tell ESPN.

According to Woj, “The deal starts with the 2018-19 season and delivers Westbrook the biggest guaranteed contract in NBA history — six seasons and $233 million through 2022-23. It includes a player option on the 2022-23 season, league sources said,”

After averaging a triple-double this past season, the Thunder knew they were going to have to pay their star big bucks, and today they did just that and issued a press release to announce the news all OKC fans were waiting on.
