The dynamics of the Bulls vs Celtics playoff series is altered dramatically

Chicago Bulls point guard Rajon Rondo has been a critical piece to the team going up 2-0 on the Boston Celtics in the first round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs.

Now he is out indefinitely with a broken thumb, the Bulls announced in a press release: "Rajon Rondo injured his right hand in Game 2 at Boston on Tuesday night. Rondo underwent a subsequent exam and x-rays that confirmed a thumb fracture. Surgery is not required for this injury, and he is out indefinitely."

Rondo has averaged 10.2 points and 6.6 assists in the first two games of the playoffs against Boston, his former team that he won an NBA title with, but his greatest contribution might be on the defensive end.

The dynamic of the series has now changed with Rondo out. Let's see if the Celtics can take advantage of his absence.
