Quentin Tarantino Better Check Himself

I wasn’t mad at Quentin Tarantino for using N-word in his award-winning film Django Unchained. In fact, I believe it would be disingenuous to base a movie on the slavery-era without it.

I can even understand Tarantino using the word backstage at the Golden Globes Awards to defend its use in the movie.

“If somebody is out there actually saying when it comes to the word ‘n—–,’ the fact that I was using it in the movie more than it was being used in the antebellum south in Mississippi, then feel free to make that case. But no one's actually making that case. They are saying I should lie, that I should whitewash, that I should massage, and I never do that when it comes to my characters,"

Alright, QT, you made your point. Let’s not get too comfortable with using this word, though. No matter how many stamps you have on your hood pass, it can still get revoked at any time.  And you are crossing that very thin line.

Spike Lee has already checked him about this. It would be a shame for someone less diplomatic to run up on Tarantino and really let him know why his freedom of speech doesn’t include the N-word.
