Pharrell to Perform Happy at Oscars

Every once in a while an artist creates a song that is such a smash that it crosses cultures, media and becomes a super-hit. Bobby McFerrin had such a record with “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” back in 1988. It looks like Pharrell William's ultra-catchy song “Happy” is quickly turning into one of those successes.

“Happy," spawned from the soundtrack to Despicable Me 2, will be performed by multi-Grammy winning artist Pharrell at the upcoming 86th Annual Academy Awards, which will be broadcast live on ABC on March 2. The song itself is also up for an Oscar in the Best Original Song category.  Pharrell won four Grammys, including producer of the year, at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards.
