Papa John’s Founder Resigns After Dropping N-Word On A Conference Call

Papa John’s founder and chairman John Schnatter has resigned after a Forbes report revealed used the N-word on a conference call in May.

According to the report, Schnatter said on the call that Colonel Sanders called blacks n—–s.” He then complained “that Sanders never faced public backlash.” He “also reflected on his early life in Indiana, where, he said, people used to drag African-Americans from trucks until they died.”

The founder of the pizza chain has had a history of racist and problematic behavior. In November 2017, while CEO, Schnatter was upset at the NFL for how they deal with protests against racial inequality and police killings of unarmed Black people.

On 3Q earnings call, @papajohns CEO John Schnatter blames “NFL leadership” for “current debacle” between players and owners. Stock is -5%

This demonstrates that Schnatter just didn’t respect his Black customers and it was definitely time for him to go.
