New Prince Album Announced On The Purple One’s 60th Birthday

Prince fans across the world are finding special and unique ways to commemorate the late singer on his would-be 60th birthday today.

Whether it’s through watching his videos or by listening to his music digitally, people are out today celebrating the life of an icon.

In Minnesota, a resident named Joel King, who served as a camera operator on Prince’s Graffiti Bridge and several music videos, reportedly is co-organizing a minibus tour that will show screenings of the 1984 film Purple Rain.

I do not own this video nor do I claim anything off it therefore I couldn’t find the official video anywhere so here it is! Been listening to this song over the past couple of days and the day I wanted to see him live… He died…

All the way over in Philadelphia, Federal Donuts is celebrating by offering up one-day-only Purple Rain donuts.

But, what’s both surprising and a treat for most fans is the news that Prince’s estate and Warner Bros. will be dropping a new album from the artist titled Piano & A Microphone 1983, set to drop on Sept. 21.

The reported nine-track album will feature unreleased material of Prince playing early playing on his piano in his home studio back in 1983. The tracklist includes early versions of songs like Purple Rain, 17 Days and more.

Many special celebrations for a special artist. Literally on this day back in 1993, Prince changed his name to a symbol that represented Love. Very few artists can even attempt to do such a thing while still be recognized by their real stage name.

With so much talent, so many hit songs and so many memorable moments, Prince will be forever immortalized in music history and our hearts.
