NBA Fined Houston Rockets $150K For Bumping Their Gums About Dwight Howard

The NBA has reportedly fined the Houston Rockets 150,000 for comments made regarding Dwight Howard during the free agent moratorium period. Houston Rockets owner Daryl Morey and head coach Kevin McHale could not resist howling their excitement at landing prized free agent, Dwight Howard.

Problem is, league rules clearly forbid teams from discussing free agents during this period

"Under league rules, such comments are not permitted during the moratorium period. Please be reminded that during the moratorium period, teams are not permitted to announce publicly that they have agreed to terms of player contracts or offer sheets to free agents."

League moratorium period ended today and the Dwight Howard trade is official. Time will tell if Howard was worth all the hassle.
