Nas Rocks Jimmy Fallon

In his continual ode to a love for all things 90s, Jimmy Fallon brought Nas and Q-Tip to the stage of his NBC Tonight Show home for Monday’s Roots backed version of 1994’s “One Love” and “The World is Yours.” Decked out like the fall of ’93, Nas sat at one point chillin’ with an oversized fatigue jacket and unlaced Timberland boots, nodding and rhyming as Questlove tended to drums and Q-Tip smoothed out the hook singing, “One love, one love, one love, one love.”

For Nas fans it was a lovely moment indeed. Celebrating the 20 year anniversary of Nas’ 1994 release Illmatic, the Queen MC − considered one of the greatest rappers of all time has been on full-time duty pushing Illmatic XX. The double disc album not only includes a remastered version of Illmatic, but also rare remixes, freestyles, and the unreleased single “I’m a Villain,” all available April 14.

To promote the anniversary project, Nas has been everywhere from HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher to the opening night stage of next week’s Tribeca Film Festival, where the documentary on his musical life, Time is Illmatic, opens the Robert De Niro founded NYC movie fest with a screening and performance of Illmatic at the Beacon Theater.
