MIA Still Battling NFL Over Superbowl Perfomance Controversy

It has been 2 years since MIA performed during the 2012 Super Bowl halftime show with Madonna, but the singer is still battling against the NFL over her controversial appearance.

During the performance, MIA flashed her middle finger at the camera which caused an uproar during the family-audience show. The NFL immediately took action against her with a lawsuit for $16 million in restitution and damages.

On Monday, the singer tweeted a photo of a document the NFL asked her to sign. The singer also shared her own thoughts on the lawsuit. “Now they’re scapegoating me into figuring out what is the goal post of what’s offensive in America …. Like, is my finger offensive?” she said, “It’s a massive waste of time, a massive waste of money. It’s a massive display of powerful corporation d–k shaking.”
