Takes only one minute to cause mayhem. And last night in Austin, Texas at South By Southwest (SXSW), one of the largest film, music and interactive media festivals in the country, 60 seconds of speeding has carried over into an endless nightmare.

Late Wednesday night, a drunk driver heading the wrong way on a one-way street, fleeing from police, plowed through a SXSW barricade killing two people on a moped, and injuring 23 others. Witnesses describe bodies flying everywhere. And the drunken suspect, who attempted to flee the scene after the drama, was eventually apprehended and now faces two counts of capital murder and 23 counts of aggravated assault.

This year’s SXSW has included appearances by movie stars, music, film executives, and exclusive performance by everyone from Jay Z and Kanye West to A Tribe Called Quest.
