Last night, Harlem's Schomburg Center for Research In Black Culture screened the AAU documentary Little Ballers. The story surrounds around four young boys (Kevin, Tyreik, Judah, and Cole) as they make a championship run. Directed by Crystal McCrary and executive produced by Amar'e Stoudemire and Lupe Fiasco, the piece is filled with heart, highlighting the hard work and determination that drives these boys at the tender age of 11-years-old. It breaks down how participating in the sport helps each of them learn life lessons.

The film, a must see for any parent of an aspiring athlete, features honest anecdotes from such NBA players as Stoudemire, Russell Westbrook and Steve Nash, among others.  McCrary and AAU coach Billy Davis were on hand for a post-screening Q&A discussion hosted by Rev. Dr. Eric Michael Dyson.
