“Looking for work” sign holder, Joe Anderson, gets contract from Jets

Joe Anderson’s creative thinking earned him the opportunity to pursue the career of his dreams.

The New York Jets signed Anderson to their practice squad after the the image of him holding a sign outside of Texans Stadium, with hopes of being noticed by an NFL team, caught the attention of Pro Bowl wide receiver Brandon Marshall, who posted it on his instagram account last month.

Anderson went undrafted in 2012 before being signed by the Chicago Bears, where he was used on special teams. He last played in 2013, being waived after suffering groin and abdominal injuries. His innovative idea to get noticed substantiates Marshall’s claim that he’s “one of the hardest working guys” that he’d been around during his career. Most guys have too much pride to literally try anything it takes to make their dreams come true. Must respect to Joe Anderson, no matter the outcome.
