LeBron James Passes Shaq Diesel On NBA Career Scoring List

LeBron James hasn’t had the team success that he hoped this year for as the Cavs enter the last leg of the regular season, limping into the playoffs with a 6-10 record in March. Despite his team’s turmoil, King James continues to fly up the list of various career offensive categories. And with every iconic name that he passes, the magnitude and magnificence of James’ career is magnified.

The Cavs, who are now 1/2 game behind the Celtics for the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference, lost another close game on Thursday night, 99-93, to the Bulls who are fighting tooth and nail for that final playoff seed.

The end result wasn’t to King James’ liking, but he managed to make history late in the fourth quarter when the last high school-to-pro phenom passed Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal for 7th place on the NBA’s all-time career scoring list with 28,597 points.

After last night’s 26 point-performance King James’ scoring total sits at 28,599.

The next two victims on the list are Dallas Mavs legend Dirk Nowitzki who is still balling and has 30,181 points and counting, and perhaps the greatest scorer the league has ever seen in Wilt Chamberlain, who finished his incomparable career with 31,419 points.

As his career winds down, James will be demolishing records on his way out. He’s currently 12th on the all-time career assists list behind the bulldog Rod Strickland and CP3.
