Kyrie Irving Is Now A Boston Celtic

In a move that has people shaking their heads and stomping their feet, Kyrie Irving has been traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Boston Celtics in exchange for Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder and Brooklyns 2018 first round draft pick.

As was reported here, Kyrie Irving asked Cavs brass to move him shortly after the team lost in the NBA Finals. He initially preferred to go the New York Knicks, with secondary consideration given to the Spurs, Heat and Timberwolves.

With a ring, a rep and a belief that he can lead a team to an NBA championship, Kyrie is now the Boston Celtics’ top-option and has a really good coach, and a really good roster of veterans and young talent that includes Gordon Hayward, Marcus Morris and apparent rookie phenom Jayson Tatum on the wings.

In exchange, Thomas gets to play alongside LeBron James. Though Isaiah will be something of a defensive liability, lets not act like Kyrie ever shut anyone down. Also, Thomas averaged a league-high 10 points in the fourth quarter last year.

The Boston Celtics play the Cleveland Cavaliers on October 17.  It will be a highly-anticipated game.
