Kevin Ware’s Rehab Appears To Be Going Well

Kevin Ware's gruesome injury in Louisville's regional win against Duke was so gut-wrenching, that a debate ensued on whether it was even appropriate for CBS to show it.

Some time has passed since then and it appears that Ware is doing well in rehabilitation. Head Coach Rick Pitino said the injured guard had been riding the bike (assuming stationary) and that X-rays show the bone healing.

Not to put pressure on the kid or anything, but Pitino said he could see Ware back on the court by October.

It would be a remarkable comeback story for the next college basketball season, because the injury will still be fresh on our minds. Whether the Cardinals are viable or not (they only lost Peyton Siva and Gorgui Dieng from the championship squad), Ware's career is going to have a following at least through next season.

Ware's injury was an humbling experience, too. It showed his teammates how fragile the opportunity is to play the game, or just how quickly a situation can change in general.
