Kevin Durant Lets OKC Fans Know They Don’t Have Any Worries With Jay-Z Partnership

Small market superstar Kevin Durant linking with hip-hop mogul Jay-Z initially gave off a multitude of impressions. For one, we knew it further validated that Jay-Z's startup Roc Nation Sports is here to contend with the major sports agencies in the industry.

It also raised questions about Durant's future intentions in terms of markets. KD attempted to kill all speculation on that front in an interview with The Oklahoman

“He has nothing to do with if I'm going to leave OKC or none of that,” Durant told The Oklahoman. “I heard that before so put that out on the table. He has nothing to do with that. He knows his lane with me. Their team knows their lane with me. And they're letting me handle the basketball part. I would tell fans not to worry about that at all.”

Durant is the first NBA player to sign with Roc Nation, which also boasts New York NFL players Victor Cruz and Geno Smith, as well as Yankees All-Star Robinson Cano and WNBA rookie Skylar Diggins. In the clip, Durant makes it clear that he wants to learn as much as he can from Jay about expanding his brand.
