Welterweight titleholder Keith Thurman (26-0, 22 KO's) was named fighter of the year by Premier Boxing Champions after a decisive win against Robert Guerrero in March and eighth round knockout of Luis Collazo in July.

"One Time" was honored over the likes of other worthy candidates such as Danny Garcia, Loe Santa Cruz, Shawn Porter and Deontae Wilder.

"This year has been spectacular, opening up for two networks -- NBC and ESPN -- and we're truly looking forward to 2016," Thurman said. "We're into the next generation and Keith 'One Time' Thurman represents part of the next generation -- 26-0 with 22 KOs, not afraid to fight anybody. I want to see how far I can go in the world of boxing."

Thurman will fight Shawn Porter in early 2016, after the highly anticipated bout originally scheduled for Dec. 12th, was pushed back.
