Jonathan Martin Was About To Go Full Rambo When Cops Arrested Him

Former Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Jonathan Martin needs to get some serious help. He apparently had multiple weapons in his possession when he was detained by police in Los Angeles last month after he posted an image of a shotgun, ammo and tags of former NFL and high school teammates.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, “Martin was carrying a loaded gun, a knife and an ax when police took him into custody on February 23. Officers in Southern California were able to track down Martin after someone made an emergency call about a “suicidal male with a gun.”

When authorities searched his car, “a loaded 12-gauge shotgun, a large knife, an ax and a cell phone,” according to the court documents. “

Mental illnesses, depression and anxiety attacks are common but often suppressed personal issues that the NBA world has openly embraced over the past few weeks as several superstar players are reportedly suffering from these conditions

NBA players are not on an island by themselves with these issues. Martin is showing serious signs of mental illness and a variety of other disorders with his recent actions.

Former Dolphins OL Jonathan Martin with some seriously disturbing stuff on his IG story…

Its been a troubled road for Martin who was never comfortable enough in his own 6-foot-6, 300-pound frame to live out his NFL dream in peace. He lasted three seasons and eventually disappeared from the game in 2014 with a reputation as a Gentle Giant and living proof that bullying in America is a problem and exists even in NFL locker rooms.

Martin moved on from the Dolphins, but he never forgot about the alleged bullying and racist taunts he suffered at the hands of former teammate Richie Incognito and other Dolphins players. Not long after the Parkland Florida massacre, he put out this oddly menacing and threatening post on social media.

Martins potential hit and hack list included the names of two of his former Dolphins teammates — Mike Pouncey and Richie Incognito — along with the names of two of his former high school classmates. Martin also specifically named his former high school, Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles, and the Dolphins in the photo.

Former NFL Lineman Jonathan Martin Detained After Social Media Threat Shuts Down Harvard-Westlake

Former Miami Dolphins player Jonathan Martin was taken into Los Angeles police custody after a threatening Instagram post that spoke of revenge for bullying. Cristy Fajardo reports.

The police wasted no time arresting him. His social media post was probably a cry for help before he went out and did some very destructive things to some innocent people. Thankfully, Martin was detained by police less than 24 hours after he made his menacing post.

If not for that post, police may not have had the inclination to go arrest him. He was a massacre waiting to happen.

According to court documents, his girlfriend said that had been making suicidal statements in the month leading up to his Instagram post.

I doubt we will see Jonathan Martin on an NFL field again. It’s possible that he could be suffering from CTE as well. Stories like his give even more credibility to the celebrities and athletes who are honest and open about their mental and physical health issues and setbacks.

Harboring the hurt and pain, which eventually leads to frustration and hate, will only result in madness.
