Jonathan Dwyer Arrested For Domestic Violence

The NFL is feeling woozy right now and the hits just kept on coming Wednesday when Arizona Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer was arrested on domestic violence charges, specifically aggravated assault and preventing somecone from calling 911. According to the Phoenix Police Department Dwyer was involved in two separate incidents on July 21st at 8 a.m. and July 22nd at 4 p.m.  involving his 27-year-old wife and his 18-month-old son.

The incident resulted in broken bones and allegedly took place in July, but wasn't reported until September 11th. The police investigated for six days until making an arrest on Wednesday.

For his part, Dwyer has denied any physical altercation took place. specifically aggravated assault and preventing somecone from calling 911. The Arizona Cardinals immediately deactivated Dwyer and released a statement.

"Given the serious nature of the allegations we have taken the immediate step to deactivate Jonathan from all team activities," according to the release. "We will continue to closely monitor this as it develops and evaluate additional information as it becomes available."
