Shannon Sharpe Says The NFL Wants Colin Kaepernick To Bow And Kiss The Ring

San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch said in an interview on KNBR that free-agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick would help his chances of being accepted back into the league if he made it clear he’s committed to being an NFL signal-caller.

“I think the way you could best help yourself is not to have someone talk for you, not have statements, but go sit down and give an interview and let people know where you stand because he makes a compelling case as to how bad he wants to be in the league when you talk to him.”

Lynch told Kaepernick, man-to-man in personal conversations that he thinks Kaepernick has a perception problem, but reaffirmed that Kaepernick has expressed a true dedication to his craft:

“I would tell you with my conversations with Colin, he is fully committed to wanting to be in this league. I gave that opinion to Colin myself: ‘I think you are having a little bit of an image crisis in terms of, not so much what you did last year, but people are wondering: Is this most important to you?’ At a position where the guys who succeed at the position are the guys who live it, breathe it, the CEOs at that position. And I think there is a perception that football is not at the top of the list.”

@ShannonSharpe: NFL wants Kap to bow down, kiss the rings and say he’s a horrible person for using its platform on a cause he deems worthy. https://t.co/fbIApVa9xN

Shannon Sharpe wasnt feeling Lynchs comments and on his daily show Undisputed, Sharpe expressed his displeasure with the entire blackballing of the African-American QB who set off a firestorm of national debate when he refused to stand for the National Anthem.

The way people are talking is like in the middle of a play Colin Kaepernick went down and took a knee. They are being so disingenuous. This is what I dont get. How do people say what he needs to do or what he hasnt done… How do they know Colin Kaepernick hasnt reached otuto certain teams.

“Anytime someone comes out and they support Colin Kaepernick and they destroy the narrative thats being portrayed of him, nobody wants to hear that. He supposedly couldnt play but all the guys that got signed could?”

Sharpe went onto say that he believes Kaepernick is being taught a lesson and the NFL is sticking it him because he didnt bow down. The notion that he cares more about activism than football or the opinion that he can’t do both is a reach.

His closing remarks focused on tomorrows Independence Day celebration and the words of an American hero, Dr. Martin Luther King.

Dr. King says in one of his speeches, Sharpe reminded co-host Skip Bayless, I ask this of America…be true to what you said on paper.
