GOP Checks In On Jay And Bey’s Cuban Vacation

Two members of the “stupid party” – which I don't think applies to all Republicans, but these two certainly earn LA Gov. Bobby Jindal's distinction in this instance – wrote a letter to the Treasury Department questioning Beyonce and Jay-Z's recent vacation to Cuba.

“Despite the clear prohibition against tourism in Cuba, numerous press reports described the couple’s trip as tourism, and the Castro regime touted it as such in its propaganda,” Reps. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Mario Diaz-Balart, both of Florida, wrote in the letter to the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Americans aren't allowed to go to Cuba because we hate their communist dictator and his murderous ways. We can't trade with them either, because, as we know, the only way to get other countries or people to change their ways is with war or by refusing to expose them to your ideas and way of life. It's worked with drugs, terrorists and North Korea.

Anyway, it turns out Bey and Jay did get the proper clearance – or perhaps the President just shot over a text – so it's all good in the Carter family.

As for the GOP, do better. Stop letting people say so many dumb things.
