Survey's show college and high school students in a post-Columbine world are much more comfortable with guns, and nearly a 60 percent plan to own gun. Other gun-related findings from the study:


• High school and college students who regularly play video games more than four hours a day are 50 percent more likely than those who typically don’t play video games to say they plan to own a gun.
About half the young people who identified themselves as “depressed, “stressed out” and/or “have difficulty making friends” plan to have a gun in their households.
• Half of black respondents fear gun violence, compared with only 31 percent of white respondents. Blacks also were less likely to report planning on owning a gun in the future.
• Young females are more likely to say they fear gun violence than young males, 40 percent compared with 32 percent.
