Giants Owner Admits That Not Signing Colin Kaepernick Has Little To Do With Football

Giants owner John Mara has acknowledged what we knew all along. Colin Kaepernick’s unemployment has nothing to do with his potential as a football player. Finally, someone of significance and power in the NFL pulls a Captain Obvious.

All my years being in the league, I never received more emotional mail from people than I did about that issue, Mara told TheMMQB.com. If any of your players ever do that, we are never coming to another Giants game. It wasnt one or two letters. It was a lot. Its an emotional, emotional issue for a lot of people, moreso than any other issue Ive run into.

Moreso than the issue of you signing kicker Josh Brown to a new contract after you knew that he beat the crap out of his wife? Really, John? You kept him on the squad for a year after his domestic violence arrest. But that’s cool by you and the NFL, right.

Kaepernick committed no crimes, he spoke up for what he believes. I guess if he beat the crap out of a woman he’d have a job right now and the love of an adoring fan base and NFL ownership, right?

Maras comments say a lot more about NFL owners and how the league operates than it does Kaepernick.

But this is old news to us. Of course he doesn’t have a job because of his protest of police brutality and social inequities.

Thanks for admitting what we long knew. It’s like telling us that water is wet.

The NFL, Roger Goodell and every owner in the league should be ashamed of themselves. But they want us to be happy that they’ll be allowing players to dance in the end zone without being penalized now, right?

They’re OK with players dancing and acting like children. Or beating up women. Or becoming addicted to the narcotics they hand out like Halloween candy so they can play through the pain of their debilitating injuries. Or killing themselves after their brain injuries have ruined their lives.

But when a Black man wants to be a real man? When he chooses to utilize his constitutional right of free speech? Ask Colin Kaepernick how that one works out.
