Gators QB Grier suspended for PEDs

Florida Gators quarterback Will Grier has been suspended by the NCAA after testing positive for performance enhancing drugs.

Grier, a freshman, stated that the positive result came from an over-the-counter supplement he took. According to NCAA’s drug policy, athletes who test positive for banned substances are suspended for one calendar year, which means Grier will not be eligible to play until as early as next season’s contest on October 15th.

Prior to the suspension Grier was having a good season. The 20-year old freshman had led the Gators to a (6-0) start, while throwing for 1,204 yards and 10 touchdowns. Sophomore QB Treon Harris will start in his absence.
