For Jordan Lynch, 300 Yards Is The New 100

There was a time not too long ago in the early days of the Obama America when the top quarterbacks rushing for 100 yards a game were brothas of the darker hue like Robert Griffin IIII and Cam Newton. In 2013, we may be embarking on a Heisman campaign that includes Johnny Manziel, the child of Texas oil tycoons who chills with Drake in the offseason, Jameis Winston, a 1,000 yard rusher in high school turned pocket passing phenom and Jordan Lynch.

Of the two aforementioned quarterbacks, Lynch is the least conspicuous. That may not last longer. The Heisman committee is scrambling for candidates to invite and Lynch's NIU Hiskies are currently undefeated. Lynch advanced his case on Tuesday night by rushing for a single-game quarterback record 321 yards in a win over Western Michigan. He broke his own national record, set October 19 against Central Michigan by five yards.

With 245 more yards over the final two games of their season he'll reach 2,000 yards and by passing for an additional 553 yards he'll become the first 3,000/2,000 player in college football history. Sounds like he and Andre Williams should be accompanying Jameis Winston to the Heisman ceremony.
