Floyd Mayweather: Brawl With Conor McGregor ‘Likely To Happen’

Floyd Mayweathers retirement party continues, and it seems he is getting more and more bored by the minute. Since rumblings and grandstanding about a pay-per-view fight between Hip-Pop heads Soulja Boy and Chris Brown have subsided, Mayweather, who was vocal about his support for Soulja and even offered his training services, has redirected his energies towards hyping his ongoing potential fight against UFC Champion Conor McGregor.

The two have been riffing on social media for some time now. The rocky relationship hit a boiling point when Mayweather attributed McGregor’s rise to stardom to “white privilege” back in January of 2016.

Then, when McGregor got rocked by Nate Diaz, Floyd went all out postal on him.

A year later, believe it or not, the fight seems more of a reality than ever.

“Most likely the fight between me and Conor McGregor will happen,” Mayweather told Sky Sports 1.

A “most likely” from Money Mayweather is about as sure a thing as trying to find the green penny in a jar of 1,000 brown ones on the first try. But his main desire is to stay relevant and he will go wherever the money trail leads.

“That’s the only fight that will get me back in the ring, Mayweather said.  “He’s going to do a job on his side and we are going to do a job on my side and hopefully all the fans in the UK come over and support me.”

“I don’t know (when it will be), I need to communicate with my team, the fight hasn’t been made yet, but it is all about entertainment so hopefully we can make it happen.”

The public wants more than anything to see these two titans go at it, whether it be boxing or some other kind of hand- to-hand combat. Mayweather and McGregor both know that the payday could be historic for such an unusual event.

In addition to being among the most skilled fighters in their respective sports, both of these champions talk hella junk.

McGregor has obtained a boxing license as part of his pursuit of ‘Money’ Mayweather and has become a full-fledged financial partner in this money-making fiasco.

“I believe this is the first billion dollar fight. I think it will happen at the end of this year or the start of next year,” McGregor was reported as saying at a recent Q&A session with his fans in Manchester.

Its all about that paper and if they are setting the bar at $1billion duckets, then the possibility of this fight happening isnt that far-fetched anymore. There are just tons of wrinkles to work out, the first being what style of fighting they will execute. The fight probably wouldnt last long for either guy if he had to switch disciplines to make it happen.

I say, let Mayweather and McGregor fight on the same card as Soulja Boy and Chris Brown and officially take us forward us into the Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome years.
