Everything Ain’t Funny On 4/20 For This Atlanta Rapper

Throughout hip-hop history we have seen examples of how artists use drugs, celebrate and religiously incorporate weed into their lifestyles, deal drugs to fund their rap dreams or just to survive as they carved out a name for themselves in the mainstream music game.

The most iconic rappers, from Jay-Z to Biggie Smalls to 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg have admitted to being street hustlers of various pharmaceutical products early in their journey from the projects to the penthouses of entertainments elite. We’ve also seen examples of rappers becoming shrewd entrepreneurs and capitalized on changing marijuana laws.

Top 10 Weed Products From Rappers

In honor of every stoner’s favorite holiday 4/20, rapper and marijuana enthusiast Lanaa Mak breaks down the best artists backed products. Unfortunately drug culture in hip-hop has also become a blueprint for some rappers who never actually make it to the superstardom part before they get clipped down by the law. Weed consumption and sale has always been a highly promoted element in hip-hop culture, but very rarely are well-known rappers caught with $1million worth of illegal product. Even the socially accepted cannabis plant.

On this 4/20 Day, wed like to give a shoutout and a big puff of smoke to Atlanta rapper Ralo, who was arrested on Sunday and is being held without bond on felony conspiracy charges to distribute marijuana.

The rapper was busted with approximately 440 pounds of marijuana https://t.co/jQEKtGeffS

A rapper selling marijuana in the early stages of his career is not unheard of, but Ralo was busted with approximately 440 pounds of marijuana, which has been valued at over $840,000 while flying privately into Dekalb-Peachtree airport in Atlanta.

Thats a large amount, especially for a guy that from the ages 12 to 19 was incarcerated 34 times and whose hood story says he made $12 million in one-year slinging heroine.  Born and raised in the infamously dangerous West Atlanta neighborhood The Bluff (an acronym for Better Leave You Fucking Fool), Ralo now lives in a mansion in Cascade (an affluent black neighborhood in southwest Atlanta) with the mayor.

A brother with a come up like that is always being clocked.

According to XXL.com, an affidavit obtained by WSB-TV reports that Ralo is deeply tied to a criminal gang in the Atlanta area known in the streets as “Famerica,” which the 23-year-old is alleged to have a leadership role within.

Following his arrest on Sunday, police, ATF and FBI agents raided an Atlanta apartment complex, known as “Lil Pakistan,” which is owned by Ralo. Agents kicked down the doors in the early morning hours on Wed., April 18, and have since confirmed the incident related to the 2018 XXL Freshman hopeful’s arrest.

The Diary of the Streets 3 rapper is a burgeoning talent in the rap game and is part of the deep, rich network of hip-hop artists that have risen out of ATL in the past 15 years.

With all that weed, maybe Ralo was going to personally sponsor a 4/20 celebration. Who knows? While his fans may be a bit concerned, marijuana enthusiasts are upset that all of that bud is going to waste, getting stale in some government evidence room.

Ralo is signed to rapper Young Scooter’s Black Migo Gang, Gucci Mane 1017 Records via Interscope Records and his own label Famerica Records.

Ralo gained recognition following the release of his single, “Can’t Lie” featuring rapper Future, which was released in 2015. In 2015 Ralo released the mixtapes Famerican Gangster and Diary of the Streets. Then in 2016, he released his third mixtape, Diary of the Streets II, which features Young Thug, Birdman, Future, Lil Uzi Vert and Shy Glizzy.

Ralo really put his stamp on the game back in February when he released his first project of 2018, Diary of the Streets 3.

Its a typical arrangement of tales from the trap featuring guest appearances from Gucci Mane, Young Thug, Boosie BadAzz, Hoodrich Pablo Juan, Young Dolph, Trouble and many more. It follows Ralo’s Plugged in With the Cartel mixtape, with DJ Kutt Throat, which dropped last November.

He possibly went a bit too far with the name of that mix joint. What an ironic title considering hes been accused of affiliating with an organized drug distribution ring and slinging weight since he was knee-high to a duck. Probably should have stayed away from that. In any event, put one up in the air today for Ralo who looks like hes going to need that 400 pounds of smoke to get through this situation with the Feds.
