Dysfunction in DC: Harper and Papelbon tussle in dugout (Video)

The Gloves are off in DC.

Picked by many to contend for the World Series, the Washington Nationals eventually lost their division to the Mets, a spot in the postseason and their composure yesterday.

Cameras captured franchise player Bryce Harper and closer Jonathan Papelbon in a dugout scuffle, after Harper flied out in the eighth inning of their 12-5 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies.

It’s important to note that Harper left the game following this incident. While Papelbon surprisingly pitched the 9th inning after the incident and promptly gave up five runs (two earned). Expect some changes to the Nats’ roster in the offseason.
