Back in April, in anticipation of this moment, we made a list of Wade’s defining career moments.

Remembering Dwyane Wade’s Career Defining Moments

Dwyane Wade did his best to help Miami battle a better Philadelphia Sixers squad in the Eastern Conference Playoffs opening round. His 28 point explosion in Game 2 tied the series and lifted Miami to its only win.

If not for Kobe Bryant, Wade would be the greatest two-guard of his generation. In fact, theres a large contingent of fans and basketball historians and street scientists of the game that would prefer to go into a life or death playoff war with Wade rather than The Black Mamba.

Despite Kobe’s five championships and unrivaled scoring prowess, there was something about Wade that endeared him to fans across the game. He was never the villain. His character was never in question. He simply carved out an illustrious Hall of fame career, with skill, grit, determination, humility and a heart the size of South Beach, Miami.

Wade is one of those transcending players that would play forever if he could.

Kobe left the NBA scene three season ago. Wade has stuck around and continue to bless us with his professionalism, leadership, and unselfishness. As he embarks on his 16th and final season in the league, he will undoubtedly get the king’s farewell tour that he deserves, being presented with awards, sold out crowds and adulation at every stop.

Dwyane Wade farewell tour is gonna ruin me. Favorite player ever. I need to cop tickets to every Heat game in NYC and maybe Philly also.

Its only fitting that he ends his journey with the Miami Heat, the team that drafted him out of Marquette in 2003.  Wade is the franchises all-time leading scorer, he spearheaded the Heats first NBA Championship in 20011 with Shaquille ONeal and then helped lead them to two more titles as the battery in LeBron James legendary back.

Likely 2022 Hall of Fame class: Dwyane Wade, Dirk Nowitzki, Vince Carter.

The Hall of Fame is the next stop for the man who has accomplished everything on the hardwood.
