Donald Trump’s Sickening Politicization Of Shamed Basketball Players

This age of hyper politicization is sickening and disheartening to behold, if Im to be perfectly honest. To add the fact that this age is being led by the current president of the United States of America only adds weight to that already heavy realization. On Tuesday, a group of three UCLA basketball players accused of shoplifting while on an exhibition tour in China and detained in a hotel for a week, hopped on a plane back to the United States.

The story broke in the mid-morning to early afternoon news cycle and it was widely reported that President Trump, in China on a two-day summit, made a personal overture to China’s President Xi Jinping for leniency. The flight from Shanghai, China to Los Angeles, California is approximately 11 and hours.

As anyone who has every participated in trans-Pacific flight can tell you, the jetlag is the most debilitating part of it all. So, theres a really strong chance that LiAngelo Ball, Cody Riley and Jalen Hill were too exhausted, or just too worried about their future, to immediately reach out to anyone outside of their immediate and respective circles upon landing stateside.

Do you think the three UCLA Basketball Players will say thank you President Trump? They were headed for 10 years in jail!

Social graces are something that we take for granted are present in people who are affluent.  However, the current POTUS crushes that age-old stereotype like so many worm-filled oranges.  He couldn’t even wait an entire day before showing his proverbial, egotistical tweeting self in admonishing these already shamed young men for not personally thanking him for doing something halfway presidential, which they actually did today.

So to answer Trump’s question, yes, they did say thanks.
