Today it was announced that Golden Globe Award winner Donald Glover (Atlanta) and his brother Stephen Glover will serve as show runners, writers and executive producers of a new Deadpool cartoon that is to be produced by Marvel Television in association with FX and ABC Signature Studios, and is slated to be released on FXX.
The announcement was made by Eric Schrier and Nick Grad, Presidents of Original Programming, FX Networks and FX Productions, and Jeph Loeb, Head of Marvel Television.
“Donald Glover is an incredibly gifted and versatile artist who’ll bring the untitled Marvel’s Deadpool series to life with the same intense, singular vision as his breakout hit Atlanta,” said Grad in a statement. “With the success of Legion, we’re looking forward to again partnering with Marvel Television to create a series that is bold, striking and entirely original.”
Glover will appear in Marvel's Spider-Man: Homecoming, the Han Solo Star Wars standalone movie, and Jon Favreau's The Lion King.
Man, this guy does it all, is more versatile than Scottie Pippen in '96 and continues to push boundaries with his artistic vision and talents.
