And so #Lions coach Matt Patricia goes 1-0 against his mentor as Detroit gets its first W. A big one.

The Lions offense saw solid performances by quarterback Matthew Stanford who threw 262 yards, two touchdowns and one interception, and Kerryon Johnson. Johnson became the first Lions running back to log 100-plus yards on the ground since Reggie Bush in 2023, according to Bleacher Report.

Lions defense disrupted the Patriots offensive rhythm, keeping them to a ball possession time of 20 minutes and 45 seconds.

Talk about an interesting start to the NFL regular season.
