Celebrating Big Pun’s 45th Birthday with his Top 5

Today, November 10th, 2016, Big Pun would have been 45 years old.

Born Christopher Lee Rios on November 10th, 1971, Big Pun (short for Big Punisher) was an amazing talent who was taken from us way too soon. Known for spitting straight fire on every track, Pun emerged from The Bronx, hooked up with Fat Joe and quickly gained notoriety after appearing on Fat Joe’s album “Jealous One’s Envy” in 1995 and the Beatnuts’ classic “Off the Books.” His first solo effort, “Capital Punishment” dropped in 1998 and blessed us with the O’Jays inspired “I’m not a Player” and the still banging remix “Still not a Player” featuring Joe. This album made him the first Latino solo rapper to go platinum and a year later he became part of The Terror Squad.

Pun passed away on February 7th, 2000 and in honor of what would have been his 45th birthday, we give you our five favorite performances. RIP Big Pun. We still miss you!
