Bucks’ John Henson describes alleged racial profiling at jewelry store

Milwaukee Bucks forward John Henson claims that he was racially profiled while attempting to patronize Schwanke-Kasten Jewelers in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin.

The former UNC star becomes the latest high profile athlete involved in a racial profiling incident, but he does the right thing here, using his social media platform to put the business on blast, and it seems to be working. The Schwanke-Kasten yelp page reveals a slew of negative reviews since the story was publicized. It’s safe to presume that Henson could have afforded the watch of his choice, recently signing a four-year $44 million dollar contract in the off-season.

We’ll be watching for the corporate response and apology which always seems to follow these cases of obvious racism. But in the meantime, Schwanke just lost a sale and a sales person just lost a really nice commission.
