Black Panther Continues To Shatter Box Office Expectations And Records

T’Challa and company brought it this weekend, raking in tons of dough and shattering all expectations and records.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the four day total puts the film in second place all time.

With a four day total of $242 million, Black Panther has now passed Star Wars: The Last Jedi ($241.6 million) for all time total domestically in that span, sitting in second place behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($288.1 million). In addition, the film brought in the biggest Monday total in history with $40.2 million, surpassing The Force Awakens’  $40.1 million.

Globally the film has raked in $426.6 million and it has yet to open in Russia (Feb. 22), Japan (March 1) and China (March 9).

Looks like Wakanda will be creating Black History for a long time.
