Beyoncé Given Unrestricted Control Over Vogue’s September Issue Cover

Beyonc continues to break barriers as she has reportedly gained full control over Vogues September issue cover.

If that wasnt amazing enough, she has enlisted 23-year-old black photographer, Tyler Mitchell, who has shot for brands like Marc Jacobs and Givenchy.

This is the first time in the fashion magazines 126-year-history that a black photographer will shoot its cover, according to Huffington Posts Taryn Finley.

Mitchell decided to photograph Mrs. Carter for the cover because she used her power and influence to get him the assignment, says a source from HuffPost.

While cover subjects are usually given no say in their photos and are sent the cover a week before publication, the fashion power house is contractually obligated to give Beyonc full control over the cover, the photos of her inside the magazine and the captions, which she wrote herself.

Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour typically prefers to hire fashion photographers with more traditional experience and likely would not have selected Mitchell for a cover shoot, according to a source familiar with Vogues editorial process.

This move is definitely one for the culture.
