If you thought Ron Jaworski's assessment of Johnny Manziel was harsh, it's courteous compared to Barry Switzer's real talk on CBS Radio in St. Louis.
Ron Jaworski critiqued Johnny Manziel from a football perspective as a project who doesn't have the proper training making pre-snap adjustments, is inexperienced throwing in the pocket and may not be able to endure the physical punishment as a diminutive scrambler.
Switzer likes to tell it like it is. As a former coach, he also has the insight to read through the baloney.

"I'm gonna tell you. I said Johnny Manziel is … I don't like his antics. I think he's an arrogant little prick," Switzer said. "I've said that and I'll say it again. He's a privileged kid, he's embarrassed himself, he's embarrassed his teammates, his program. He's embarrassed his coach. And they'll all have to defend him because they have to coach. I know that. I spent 40 years in the damn game so I know how it works."
I'm not so sure why everyone is surprised though. Those comments are actually improvement over Switzer wanting to open up a can of whoop ass all over Johnny Football this summer. Surprisingly, this is an improvement.
Switzer also had a higher opinion of Manziel the football player than Jaws.
“I’ve never seen a college football quarterback do what he does,” he said. “It’s staggering … he’s the most dominant college football quarterback I’ve seen in a long time. I‘ve compared Manziel to Michael Jordan and Oscar Robertson. He takes over a game like those guys did.”
