AAU Hoops Brawl Between Players And Refs Caught On Camera

Passion can be both a positive and negative thing, a perpetual builder and an instant destroyer of all our wants and desires.

For the parties involved in a game between the Houston Raptors and R.A.W. Athletics, two AAU squads filled with teens that have aspirations of Division I scholarships and NBA dreams, passion appears to have gotten the very best of all involved.

During a game sponsored by Gatorade Association Presents, a massive brawl ensued, and some folks are blaming the ref for the incident. Check out the video below!

“A ref actually walked up on one of our players and attacked him. Everyone tried to break it all up, then the ref’s father (who was working a game on a different court) ran over to our court and rushed our guys..everyone in the gym, the other team and the directors saw everything,” said R.A.W. Athletics head coach Howard Martin.

We are disappointed in the incident that occurred this morning at The Association basketball tournament at @LakePointIndoor and are taking the appropriate action with authorities. Behavior like this by any party will not be tolerated.

No matter what happens from here on out, what many of the young players may not realize, is that whenever incidents of these sorts occur, they’ll likely not get the benefit of the doubt.

Observers, bathed in their own prejudice, will not see this as a righteous retaliation but an act of toxic male behavior. A moment of rage or disrespect can result in a lifetime of regret.
