Don't sleep, these are gonna sell out quick.
L.A. artist Mister Cartoon's collaborations are always very limited and highly creative. Unlike a lot of brands, he doesn't just work with anyone, which makes any product he puts his signature style behind special. The latest collaboration features a pair of intricately designed watches for Italian denim house, Diesel.
The watches, are the first such collaboration for Diesel and the second overall that they have done with Cartoon (the first was an "Only The Brave" cologne which dropped in 2011). The DCMC0001 (limited run of 3800) and DZMC0002 (limited run of 1500) were each customized by the legendary Los Angeles tattoo artist himself. Each individually numbered watch features his signature style that has been featured everywhere from museums to boutiques
The less expensive of the two watches, the DCMC0001, which retails for $295.00, (seriously, companies really need to start giving their timepieces cooler, more memorable names) features the clown face in silver on a black dial with red details. The flipside has Cartoon's adaptation of Diesel's Mohican icon. The case side and silicone bands are spruced up with custom logo engraving.
The slightly costlier DZMC0002 ($325.00) features oversized roman numerals designed by the artist, and has his personal hand pinstriped clown face logo, prominently featured on the watch. The chunkier (in a good way) more utilitarian watch also has an LED light display function, while the silicone band bears an olive tone, which is perfect for fall weather.
To commemorate the release, Diesel, Mister Cartoon and (ill photographer in his own right) Estevan Oriol, went to Thailand to document Cartoon tattooing some of the country's noted figures. The adventure is broken down into four parts, titled "Time to Ride." The first webisode can be seen below:
